The reporting is as accurate and unbiased as any I have seen. I want to thank and congratulate The Columbus Dispatch and reporter Haley BeMiller for recent front page updates informing us on the upcoming August ballot issue concerning the process for amending the Ohio Constitution. Stansbery, Columbus Keep up the good work Vote No on Issue 1 this August 8, and register to vote before July 10, 2023. Issue 1 will hurt all Ohioans, so keep the constitution as it has been for over 100 year s- keep majority rule and minority rights central to Ohio constitution. So don’t get fooled by a guest columnist that really is against your rights to access the very things she claims she supports - the low wage employees. Issue 1 will change the way Ohio citizens can address issues that the legislators won’t touch such as minimum wages, public education financing, collective bargaining, and health care access. Working families are always hurt when legislation and laws limit their access to legislators and the folk who make rules that hurt the very people who the columnist claims to support. Opinion: History rhymes, and Ohio GOP lawmakers are rapping with constitutional amendment vote Issue 1, if enacted, will place democracy and citizen initiatives in jeopardy. The Ohio Restaurant Association decision to make a statement on Issue 1 will in the end hurt the very people she claims to come to the rescue. The guest column " Boycotts to make political point are wrong approach and can backfire," written by your ex-colleague, misplaced her angst.
